Cell-phones

Mixed D-AMPS/TDMA and GSM 850. If you have a quad-band phone or tri-band cellphone that has GSM 850 then you can roam or simply purchase a prepaid SIM card in Panama. Otherwise, your cellphone/blackberry will not work here. More info here.

You can rent GSM cell phones from companies such as Cellular Rent Express (tel. 210-9211, $6/day total), which is conveniently located in the lobby of the Marriott Hotel. Another, Cell Rent Panama (tel. 226-7302 / 6613-7302) which claims to have delivery service.
